Middle aged white woman, impregnantated by gay friend’s sperm, is sick and dying. Medical team wants to terminate pregnancy to save the woman – the fetus is what’s killing her for some obscure medical reason. Dr. Cuddy, another middle aged white woman who is in charge and wants to be a mom too, says no, and to save the baby at all costs. This results in a fetal surgery where a tiny baby hand brings out Dr. House’s sensitive side, which of course, he quickly brushes away with a reference to Aliens. But, then, in talking with the patient when all is well and mom and baby are saved through miraculous modern science, he calls it a “baby” instead of a fetus. When patient thanks House, he say’s dont think me “I would have killed the kid.”

Have you seen private practice? There was one a week or so ago, where the women in the office were arguing whether or not to perform abortions there, and 2 of the female doctors admitted to having abortions- one said she had 2. I thought it was pretty amazing. in the end, they decided to do abotions in the office, though they had one person very opposed to it.
It definitely struck me as the most in depth i’ve ever heard a conversation about abortion – and where women talked about their experiences, albeit briefly. Things are definitely changing, slowly, but surely.
